Description and History: Craig Hall was built in 1925. It was designed by famed architect Horace Trumbauer, who also designed the Free Library of Philadelphia, “The Elms” in Newport, Rhode Island, “Whitemarsh Hall” in Montgomery County, and numerous ostentatious homes for wealthy clients. The large Georgian Revival mansion is built of brickwork in Flemish bond pattern with limestone details. It contains marble floors in the entrance and stair halls, a marble and wrought iron staircase, and fine woodwork. Alterations performed in the 1950s removed much of the second floor and changed the roofline.
