The Five Campus Bike Route |
This map shows a proposed bicycling route that connects Haverford College, Harcum College, Bryn Mawr College, Rosemont College and Villanova University. It grew out of requests from Bryn Mawr and Haverford college students looking for a better route for bicycling between the two inter-related campuses. This route avoids Lancaster Avenue, Montgomery Avenue, and the narrow old "hole in the wall" underpasses of the Paoli/Thorndale (Amtrak Keystone Corridor) rail line. Using similar "low traffic-stress cycling" thinking, the route was extended to Rosemont College and Villanova University, thereby encompassing five Main Line campuses and creating a "string of pearls" from them.
